22 ਸਾਲਾ ਦਸਤਾਰਧਾਰੀ ਜਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਊਨਟਾਊਨ ਐਡਮਿੰਟਨ ਦੇ ਪਾਰਕੇਡ ਵਿਚ ਤੇਜ਼ਧਾਰ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜੋ ਕਰੀਬ ਅੱਠ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿਚ 40 ਸਾਲਾ ਐਡਗਰ ਵਿਸਕਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਰਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹਮਲੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਐਡਮਿੰਟਨ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਮੇਅਰ ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੋਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪਿੰਡ ਬਡਲਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮਾਲੇਰਕੋਟਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸੀ। ਕਥਿਤ ਕਾਤਲ ਨੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਕਸ ਕਟਰ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਹ ਨੋਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਫੈਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਆਈਟੀ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੀ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨਸਲਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਫਸਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਵਰਤਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।

Jashdeep Singh Mann, a 22-year-old turban holder, was shot dead with a sharp weapon in a parkade in downtown Edmonton on Wednesday, who had arrived to Canada as an international student about eight months ago.
Police have charged 40-year-old Edgar Whisker with second-degree murder in the case, who remained at the scene after the assault.
Those providing information on the case are demanding Edmonton police and city Mayor Amarjit Singh Sohi to investigate the incident as a hate crime.
The deceased youth was related to village Badla district Malerkotla. The alleged killer allegedly used a box-cutter to kill.
It can be noted that there is a lot of hatred towards Sikhs currently being spread on social media in Canada, including Indian IT cells fusing local racists.
